Coleford Carnivals 1950s

Jill wrote (August 2008): "I think these photos of coleford carnival were probably taken in the fifties. This group of local ladies always used the lorry owned by Terrett Taylors who were ironmongers in the town. My father Fred Fowler was manager there and always drove the vehicle and featured in the tableau. This group won first prize on many occasions".
"The bungalow in the background belonged to Mrs Roberts and was situated at the top of High Nash where the Carnival procession began. The route went into the town, round the old Town Hall, up St Johns St, Staunton Rd, Victoria Rd to Buchanan Recreation Ground".
