A room in Clearwell Castle.

This is a photo of a room in Clearwell Castle probably at some date before the fire of 1929 when Colonel Vereker and his first wife Adele were in residence.
Below are details from the photo showing the paintings which look to be depicting biblical subjects?.
Does anyone recognise the subjects of the paintings?.

Graham Turner added: "... The top painting (above) is inspired by the story of Peter in prison. See the book of Acts chapter 12 verses 6-7...".

Graham Turner added: ".... At one stage the apostle Paul was let down from a window by a basket to escape his pursuers. ... Acts 9 v25"
In March 1895, a sale was held at Clearwell Court (later called Clearwell Castle) of effects that included:
... Four Flemish Tapestries representing "Our Saviour Healing the Blind (after Raphael), "St Paul let down in a basket", "Angel Letting St Peter out of Prison" and "Take up Thy Bed and Walk" (after Raphael), all of which were the property of the late Countess of Dunraven and removed from her chapel at Clearwell ... - source Gloucestershire Chronicle 02 March 1895.
The sale was advertised to take place at Clearwell Court by Messrs Rootes and Wintle over several days in February 1895..
