Mike Pollard added (August 2017): "... I recognise one of these as Harold Barnett, landlord of the White Horse at Staunton. It was difficult to recognise him in these clothes, as I never saw him dressed in a suit. He was the Grandfather of my best friend at school, and we often stayed at the White Horse and cycled in the area and walked down to the Biblins, Near Hearkening and Far Hearkening rocks. The railway lines were still in the wye valley and where the cycle trail to Beechenhurst is. I also remember the wood distillation plant where the Cannop ponds picnic site is".
Thanks to Steve Saich, David Dunn Ivor Ellis and B. Nelson for help with the names.
