The Old Cottage, Broadwell.

May wrote (March 2008): "The
photo
is
of
my
grandparents, Fred and Ethel Williams, taken outside the front porch of their
home, The Olde
Cottage, at 41 North Road, Broadwell. (Near the Bird in Hand).
The lady in the centre is the mystery. She lived with my grandparents in the
cottage in the late 1950's. We only knew her as Auntie Bell, but was she called
Bell or Bella, or was Bell her surname? We don't know for sure. The only other
story I have is that her late husband was a jeweller, who actually made jewellery
in London. But why did she come to the Forest to end her long life with Nan and
Grandad?. What is the connection with the Williams family I wonder?, and so I
am
hoping that there is someone who can identify her".
Susan nee Darby added (October 2021): "... Ethel and Fred Williams were relatives. I used to call them uncle Fred and auntie Ethel I am not sure how they are connected to me but I am guessing That Ethel was part of the Darby or Frowen family".
