A football team in Lydbrook

wrote (Sept 2007): "This old family photo was taken in the late
1920s.don't know the name of the team, but I think it was made up of local
miners
as my granddad is in it, Ernest Wilce is in the front row third from
right."
Ernest was born in 1904, so we estimate that the date could be around
1930.
Betty Brown added (August 2010): "... Second Row third from right behind Ernest Wilce is my Father Urban Pacey".
Joan Creed added (November 2010): "... I think the 5th from right is a man called Skipper Harris and behind him looks like Merv Wadley and standing with arms folded looks like my uncle Edwin Williams of Joys Green".
David Wadley added (September 2013): "... The man described by Joan Creed as Merv Wadley is indeed my father Merv Wadley and to the left his brother Dennis. They moved to Lydbrook from Pontypool in 1931 and Dennis left Joys Green School for English Bicknor School at the end of 1932. My father would have been 13 in 1931 and Dennis 9. Both look a bit older than that to me".
