A Forest of Dean Stone Quarry

image: in a Forest of Dean stone quarry

The back of one of the photos is dated 23-1-1926 and has a return address to a Jm? W? Morgan?, Worrall Hill, Lydbrook, Nr Ross.
We're not sure who is in the photos but we do know that Gerald's grandfather moved to the Forest from Chester & lived for a while at Lower Perrygrove. He had a connection with a man named Payne who owned quarries in The Futtrel (Fetter Hill). Gerald's father lived at Marsh Lane, Sling.

(Name Supplied) added (June 2016): "The man on the left is Bob Latham Senior, spitting image of Bob Latham Junior, who coincidentally was born the same year, 1926. This is confirmed by his Grand Daughter .... He was the last man to drive the horse and dram to Cannop Stone Works. Therefore it is a good chance this is Bixhead Quarry".

Thanks also to Ivor Ellis.
