Broadwell c 1930

Wynols Hill 1930

John wrote (January 2008): "This is my Mum & Dad at the rear of North Road, Broadwell in approximately 1930. We can see trees in the background with the old Dram road in the foreground"

"The Dram road was removed and Pre- Fabs were built on this site after the war (1939-45). Some houses were built on the site of the photograph about two years ago".

Another contibutor added (Feb 2008): "I think this was the site of the American Camp which is now just in the woods at the end of Woodville Avenue Mile End. We used to play there, in the 50's. There were only the brick foundations and concrete floors left - the Americans and their Nissan huts had gone".
