Mrs Blanch Berrow who lived at Maypole Villa, Bream, for many years she ran a Bed and Breakfast business, she also did afternoon teas, catering especially for cyclists.

Graham James added (Jan 2013): "... Blanche Berrow had a daughter named Doris who played with me on my summer holidays at gran's- Mrs Meek in Maypole House opposite. Such wonderful years in the Forties there watching the Yanks drive past in their huge lorries".
