The Breezes, Bream

Roger added (July 2007) "The Breezes, Bream, which became home in 1923 to my grandfather George Leslie Dennis, an engineer at Norchard Power Station, with Elsie, his wife and children Douglas, Aline and Roy. Just to the left and over the brow of the hill, lies The Blistors, home of Robert Vernon Jones. It was here that Roy, my father, first made the acquaintance of Mary Pritchard, Vernon's oldest grand-daughter - by throwing stones at her! He seems to have made an impression, as they would later marry on 26 December, 1946, in St. Mary's, Lydney. Mary was the eldest daughter of Eddie and Annie Pritchard, of 2, Oxford St., Lydney. Roy and Mary celebrated their Diamond Wedding in 2006, but sadly Mary passed away in the Spring of 2007"..

Janette Louise Ashbee added (November 2018): "... My ggrandfather, Joseph Brain, is listed as living at Breezes in 1911 census with his wife, Maria, son George and newphew. There was another family living there as well. Joseph was a retired labourer and miner so seems strange he was in such a big house. Did it have another use at some time?".
