Bream Miners Welfare Cinema

Bream Miners Welfare Cinema some time between 1947, when it opened and 1961 when it became Bream Rugby Club.
A year of voluntary work from local residents enabled the former Miners Welfare Hall to re-open as a cinema in 1947. The openeing ceremony was performed by Mr M Phillips Price M.P. who said "It was a real tragedy for the village when the hall was lost to the community, but from the its ashes has arisen an even larger and more substantial building of which everyone may justly be proud".
Mr A. J. Brookes J.P. (secretary) explained that the building had been re-erected at very considerable cost and would function in future as a cinema.
