A large group of Bells pupils outside the school at Coleford.

They are obviously not wearing school uniform, does anyone have any idea what is going on?.
Mostly the photo shows boys and many are wearing berets with a badge that looks like a poppy?. The boy at the front - third from the left is holding what appears to be a copy of The? Rag Times. In front of him is a white collecting box? - also showing a poppy?. So perhaps the pupils were collecting for the poppy appeal?.

Malcolm says that the photo is from the Gwilliam branch of his family .
