Bells Exam marks from 1894

Exam 1894

Gill wrote " ... I wondered if anyone would recognise any of the names on this very old document I found recently. It is the examination marks for the boys of Bells Grammar School in 1894. My grandfather features near the bottom no 13. in the juniors. F. Coole. I don't think French and Latin were his best subjects. It would be very interesting to know if anyone in Coleford recognises the name of their Grandfather.

Terry Harper added "... No.11 in the Juniors is almost certainly James Harold Harper my Great Uncle who was about the right age for that year",

Jon Coole added: "... row 13 Frank Coole. My father was named Frank Sidney Coole, born Dec 1917, killed in road accident in 1959. Could we be related?. I am XX living in XXXXXXXX Glos".

Gill added (April 2011): "... Sorry Jon but No 13 Juniors is my Grandfather and his name was Frederick George Tyler Coole. There is a possibility that we could be related but there were a lot of Cooles in Gloucestershire mainly from the South Cerney Area".
