The Laurels, Alvington

This scan taken from a glass plate (negative) was taken from a horse and trap ascending the hill into Alvington. The sign by the front door is advertising Brooks, Dye. The date is around 1911.

Lindsey Howell added (April 2022); "... The 2 houses you see are Colne Villas. Owned by my grandparents durng this time. They also owned a laundry up the lane near the Swan Inn pub which is now tea rooms, until the laundry burnt down".
