Terry M. added: "... John Haggar's Gran had the sweet shop next to the Council houses at Edge End. They had previously lived top of the Land Society, North Rd, but moved to the second council house behind the shop".

Keith Gunter added (January 2017): "... I was born at No.1 Council Villas on **/**/1941 and I recall going in to the shop many, many times. It was run by a Mrs Roberts then. I now live in New Zealand".
