These men are members of the Vernon Lodge No 7545 of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes photographed in the school yard at Bream on 11 September 1949. The group met just across the road at the Cross Keys Inn. Membership was possible only by invitation and only with unanimous approval of the members.
Robert Vernon Jones the founder was a farmer of Blistors Farm, Bream (correspondence with Roger Dennis May 2007)
