Green Cottage, Sun Green, Bream from c. 1914 showing Julia Ann Batten with the cat, Caroline Mabel Batten, Frances Ellen Batten (nee Wood), George Thomas Batten (1850-1922). The Battens moved to Green Cottage when Caroline Batten was a baby, she was born in 1899. Green Cottage was built in 1863
George Thomas Batten was the last of his family to occupy the position of St James Church, Parish Clerk and Sexton, a position which was held by the Battens for the 130 years between 1791 and 1922 . |
