Parkend Road, Yorkley. Electricity has arrived, but the pavements have not yet been laid.
Ron Ellway added (Feb 2009): "The small boy in the photo may be me. The machine which dispensed Woodbines can be seen on the house side which was my mother's shop. The attached lean-to building is where Mr Jack "Shiner" James the village undertaker made and polished his coffins".
