The Foresters, Upper Road, Pillowell, thought to be Darts trophies around 1950. The Foresters faced in the direction of Whitecoft and Bream.
Thanks also to Alan Beddis. Alan researched this photo and recalls that The Foresters closed around 1961-1962

Kevin Burke added (May 2008): "When I was a small boy (circa 1959/60 , I used to have to go and fetch cider in a stone jar for old Harry Jeffery who is in the photo. He could no longer manage the short walk due to his black lung. We lived just up the hill from the pub at Yorkley (Bunnies) Wood, and the locals referred to it then as Gannon's, so we may assume that Gannon was the landlord"

Note: in "The Pubs of the Forest of Dean" by Heather Hurley (2004) this pub is listed as the "Royal Forester"..
