An old printed postcard by Coleford photographer John W Porter of St Paul's church, Parkend. It was constructed in the 1820's by Henry Poole. From this angle it is difficult to appreciate the unusual octagonal Nave. Below are James and Miriam James, who were married in St Paul's in 1909 - around the time of the St Paul's photo.

Kate added: "They are of Miriam James nee Thomas and James James, son of Sarah and James James of Yorkley on their wedding day. They were married on December 27th 1909 at St Paul's Church (Parkend) by W J Jones who was a curate.
Witnesses were Arthur Edward Trafford and Beatrice Mary James.
James was dead 10 years later from the flu outbreak leaving a widow and 8 small children, one of whom was my Mother Florence who was born in 1915".
