Gill wrote: "It looks as if this is a contest and I think the conductor was Albert Phipps. It would be interesting to know where it was held, and the names of the members of the choir".

Tony Preest added (Feb 2009): "We think that this photo was taken on Lydney Rugby ground probably at a competition - possible around 1950".
