Roger wrote: "Parishioners grew potatoes in 1960/1963, to raise money for the massive restoration programme which faced All Saints Church.
The Reverend Alec Smith despite being disabled himself, took on this mamoth task, and "All Saints" will always be a glowing tribute to him.
