Inside Staunton Church

Mike wrote: "... This is a pencil sketch that has been used as the front cover of a Greetings card. The inscription on the inside of the card reads " Greetings and all Good Wishes for Christmas and the New Year from George E. Wells, 10 Portland Avenue, Southend-on-Sea". My grandmother at one time operated a B&B in Staunton and it may be that Mr Wells had stayed with her while on holiday and later sent her a copy although it is not signed.
Geoff Watkins added: "... In the early 1950s the church asked for volunteers to pump the organ. I did so until I started work in 1954".
