  How to Send in material

If you have old photos or other material you would like to see displayed on these pages, please see below:

Photos (if you have a Scanner):

  • If possible please scan at 300 dpi (dots per inch). If you are not familiar with this terminology, just scan at whatever your scanner is normally set to.
  • Please only send in photos that belong to you or photos that you have borrowed and are sending in with the permission of the owner.
  • If you send in a scan from an old book, please let us know the name of the book from which the scan was taken
  • When sending pics. as an email attachment, if you see a setting 'keep to original size' (or similar) please be sure to check it. This will stop the email software from degrading the quality of the scan

Photos (if you do not have a Scanner)

Please email me at Image: Old Photos of the Forest of Dean , email address and we will try to arrange for the photo to be scanned.

Other Material

If you have other materials which you think may be of interest to visitors to the site e.g. old Parish Magazines, accounts, old newspaper cuttings etc., photocopies or scans are fine. We will usually transcribe these and upload them as text. That way, they can be found by Search Engines.
