wrote (April 2007): " ... pics of a couple of more
items left in the area by the US Army. The helmet belonged to a G.I.
named Gibbons. He was a driver for "B" company of the 535th
Quartermaster Company Service Battalion stationed at Castlemain near
Parkend during
WW2. You can just make out the B on the side of the helmet. The other
item is an empty tin of emergency drinking water. This was found in the
Wigpool
area". |
