Cottages, Swan Lane, Lydney - 1900.
Anne Dobbs (nee McOwan) added (August 2006) "Daisy Hughes is the
girl in the trolley pushed by her sister Lillian The man on the stool
is Jacob Hughes
(father) next to his son, Harold. The woman sat by water butt is Clara
Hughes (mother), son is Esau on her knee. Factory Cottages were by Pidcocks
Canal
(iron ore from the Forge to the Docks). Daisy was my grandmother."
Daisy was born in 1898, dating this photo close to 1900.
Diana White added (Nov 2008): "My grandmother was Gwendoline Lewis and her
family lived at the back of Factory Cottages. She would have been 5 when
this picture was taken as she was born in 1895. Her mother was Kate
Lewis (nee Blower) and came from Bream".
