Cutting Forest Stone at Cannop - c.1960

Chris Milliner of Ruspidge can be seen operating the stone cutter at a local stone works situated in the Cannop Valley. Chris recalls cutting the grey, blue and red Forest stone. Water is an important lubricant and dust supressor in the stone cutting industry and when there was a "big freeze" work had to stop and wait until the weather improved
