Jeff Jones added: "... please can you pass this query to anyone who may have old photos etc of the Forest of Dean Home Guard units. My grandfather Harold Wright from Longhope and landlord of the Nags Head during the 1960's, 1970's was in the local Home Guard during WW2. All I know is having seen a photo of him and his fellow members in uniform I think it was a cutout from the Citizen or similar from probably the 1980's. I would dearly love to see this photo again or any others that may have him in. Ive studied all the Home Guard pics on the Sungreen site plus have collected many different Old Photos books by Humphrey Phelps etc but sadly no luck yet. I would also very much like to know what unit he may have been in . Ive tried to research this online but havent found out much at all regarding Home Guard setup or activities etc in the Longhope area. Please can anyone help me ?. I look forward to any info please however small it may seem".
