The Cinema is on the far left. Next door is the Rifleman's Arms. On the corner shop, the writing on the awning reads: Ladies and Gents Gosling ??? Tailor. The sign on the right reads India and China Tea Co.
The Cinema was completed in 1913 and closed in 1964 (1).

Michelle Howarth (nee Coborn) added (Feb 2006) that her family was involved in building the cinema. It was was built by Alf Howells. Alf's wife was 'Aggie' (nee Coborn).

Peter Thomas added (May 2007): ".. delighted to see this image of the Lydney Picture House. My mother ( Ivy Ellaway ) played the piano to silent films that were shown in the Picture house. As a young woman she was very accommplished as pianist and would interpret the films as they were shown" .
