Ferndale, Tutnalls St, Lydney

Roger wrote (May 2007): "This is "Ferndale", the home of my great-grandmother Priscilla Smith and Alfred Arthur Smith, parents of Elsie "Mollie" Dennis (nee Smith) pictured with George Leslie Dennis on the Norchard feature. The Smiths moved from West Bromwich, in the 1930s, settling at Ferndale. In the photo, they are in the doorway, with my grandmother seated on the bench. The bird-bath, which fell on me once, is still extant, having been set up in successive locations, still in Gloucestershire. After my great-grandmother was widowed, she stayed on at the bungalow, but by 1956 had moved to "Bradgate", on Highfield, to which my grandparents had moved from Valley Road. Grandma lived to celebrate her 90th birthday in the 1960s"
