Iris recalled : "The Lydbrook Jazz Band was formed for the Coronation of H.M. The Queen in June 1953. They wore blue skirts and red bow ties, homemade pill box hats with red white and blue ribbons to tie them on. Things were in short supply then so thank goodness for the white school blouses".
