Comment: I was given this site to look up and when I did I saw someone from my family had put some photo s on site. Would like to know if any one has any photo s of me as I have lost mine when I was a child, my maiden name was Prakel I hope someone can help . I lived upon the Common Nr the Rising Sun went to Woolaston jnr School and then on to the Girls school in Lydney at Naas lane .

Comment: Re. the Lydbrook picture of the so called air raid shelter I knew it as the Mushroom Tunnel, and it so say ends up at Joys Green .

ABOUT SHEWARDS SHOP,I WAS BACK IN PARKEND AT EASTER AND SAW FOR MYSELF THE POOR OLD SHOP, I ALSO SEE MRS TURLEYS SHOP HAS GONE WHAT A SHAME. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT WHO EVER OWNED SHEWARDS SHOP WOULD HAVE KEPT IT. I STILL HAVE AUNT IN PARKEND I USED TO GO TO LOCAL SCHOOL THEN BREAM. I USED TO LIVE AT RIVERDALE LEAVING PARKEND 1962 I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE BACK.

Comment: The photo of Bream Band outside the hut in 1954 shows unknown man at the end at the back just to the left of the trombones . I believe it could be Albert Tink Hoare from Sun Green . Best man to confirm it would be Dave Rudge . Brilliant website, brings back a few memories and I found a photo of my grandad who died before I was born . So, thank you very much, it made my day

Comment: I was a patrol leader in the Girl Guides and my father was a lieutenant in the Home Guard during WW2 in Cinderford, but we are not on the photos . I wonder why? Perhaps we were camera shy!
