John wrote (April 2007): " ... top left is my other grandfather - George Isaiah known locally as GI. He was the proprietor of mines in the Christchurch area. He also had the grocery shop which was later Baldwin’s Bakery. These premises are now a religious retreat “The House of Bread”.
Dave Nash added (April 2007): "Alfred James was married to my Fathers' sister Kate. They ran a building and undertaking business in Berry Hill for many years before retiring in the early 1960's. Arthur Kilminster was apparently a very good sprinter and ballroom dancer in his day. In 1924, Milsom Short went to play for Gloucester Rugby Club and while playing for them he was approached to play Rugby League. In 1927, after a couple of offers ,he opted to join Hull Rugby League Club.After joining them he played for them for four years".
The photo was taken by F N Jones of Coleford and was titled "Berry Hill Rugby Football Club Forest Combination Champions 1922 -1923". The cup is the Forest of Dean Combination Cup.
